Today’s fractured media landscape presents new challenges and opportunities as organizations seek to have their stories heard by the audiences that matter most. Businesses can no longer just depend on traditional media relations (i.e., pitching an editor at USA Today) by itself or other "outbound" marketing tactics to engage with their audiences. Today it's all about "Me Media" as consumers and businesses are now blocking such traditional marketing tactics through spam filters, the Do Not Call Registry, DVRs, satellite radio, etc. Today it's on their terms not yours and that's something we all need to embrace.
This built up frustration and obvious shift to "inbound" marketing has resulted in the start of Pipeline Media Relations back in 2008. We believe every business has a wonderful opportunity to communicate with their audiences through what we call Awareness Campaigns which takes an integrated approach to leveraging both content creation through online and social media strategies and the validation created through traditional media relations tactics.
