Media Tour and Event Support

Regardless of our dependence on technology to communicate, relationships are not formed on the phone or via email.  This is absolutely the case when working with the media.

Pipeline Media Relations directly and indirectly supports a client looking to leverage good old fashioned face-to-face meeting with a reporter, producer or journalist.  Services that support this overall effort include:

Media Tour Support:  Media tours are a terrific way for a client to introduce its company, product/service and key spokespeople to targeted media.

Pipeline Media Relations believes that a client story is best told in-person and by the client’s key executive(s).  The media tour would involve a combination of face-to-face and phone interviews with media in specific markets such as NYC, Boston or Silicon Valley.  A media tour is typically two days and you can expect between 3-6 national media briefings, a detailed briefing book prior to the tour and a summary report of deliverables.

Providing a “live” experience of a client to these media outlets is truly a differentiator in and of itself; typically these reporters are approached with a specific story and/or product or service launch (and media kit) and it comes off like a sales presentation with the media.

The national media tour consists of the following tactics:

  • Research targeted media and begin scheduling meetings about 30-60 days in advance of tour;
  • Develop briefing book including tour logistics, media outlet background, reporter/producer bio, relevant media coverage and customized messaging for each;
  • Onsite media coaching, support and facilitation during meetings;
  • Media follow-up after the tour to convert meetings into coverage for a client.

Trade Show, Conference, and Event Support:  Trade shows, major industry conferences and sometimes press events or press conferences can draw a variety of media which can be a terrific opportunity for a client to schedule several face-to-face meetings onsite.

Pipeline Media Relations contacts the media attending at least 30 days prior to the event, schedules and facilitates all on-site media interviews, supports a client’s team onsite with any additional event logistics, conducts post-event follow-up and provides a client with a summary report at the end of the program.
